Powerguard Protectant - An industry leader.
Why do I need protectant?
As your carpet ages two things happen:
1: The factory applied acid dye resistors wear off.
Acid dye resistors are the chemical applied to latest generation Nylon carpets to stop dyes bonding to the fibres. This chemical wears off over time and is hastened by traffic and cleaning. This means that even though your carpet cleaned up well this time, it is less likely to not stain next time unless the protectant is re-applied.
2: The fibres deteriorate.
Microscopic cracks start to form (particularly in traffic areas) making
it easier for grime to get in: discolouring your carpet. Ever notice
how your carpet goes grey in high traffic areas? This is why. Unless a coating is put on the fibres to strengthen and re-seal them, they will continue to deteriorate unchecked.
World beating defence against stains.
PowerGuard Protectant is loaded with acid-dye resistors to stop outside dyes bonding to the carpet fibres. As previously mentioned, these are present on latest generation carpets but they do wear off (not like the carpet salesman told you).
PowerGuard also has a unique polymer base which forms a physical barrier, reducing carpet wear by arresting fibre deterioration and inhibiting re-soiling. Laboratory tests confirm that PowerGuard, mixed with our "Natural IV" solution, out performs all other protectants. Check out our Stain Insurance Program for an even more effective defence against stains and re-soiling.
